About Pop Culture
Lily's work portrays strong elements of pop culture, primarily derived from the world of advertising, fashion mags, documentaries and television. Key influences include Lily's graphic design background and the work of artists such as Ben Frost, Juan Burgos, and Roy Liechtenstein. This illustrated collection is distinguished by clear lines, colourful characters, glamorous women and bursts of bold symbolism. 'Pop Culture' is an expression of the surface-value aspirations in our society, and how in our struggle to achieve, one can at times forget what is to simply 'be' human.
